Fun race - Cheddar Challenge #15. Arrived in Chaddar @ 08:30 and changed into our outfit for the fun race. A last quick glance over the bike to ensure that it was in working order, then proceded towards the start line for 09:30. Taking a good look around at the opposition we discovered that there were no where near as many people in fancy dress as expected. What the hell makes us more unique being the minority, why follow the crowd. Start. There was the normal slow start into a bottle neck, but once past this the whole course was 100% rideable (excellent). The course had changed from the following year making the course longer than usual. Still there was a lot of uphill from the start but once up onto tha quarry the race really opened up and the men left the boys trailing in their dust plumes. We went screaming down through wiches wood narrowly missing our heads on over hanging branches, straight out into the start finish arena. All that uphill looming up fast again. This time around the hill felt like nothing was there apart from having to wait for Brad (he's unfit at the mo). The second lap was much better that the first as I had warmed up by then. This lap was much quicker than the first, wiches wood my favorite part of the course went by very quickly all downhill. Straight out into the finish arena. Now came the embarassing part, I have completed all 15 Chaddar Challenges, I think that I am the only person that has completed all 15 since it started. But hey I won £10 for my troubles as dressing as part man part woman. Here's to the next 15 years. Better luck next time Brad.
